A Developer and Architect Compare Tall Wood 混合动力 Structures
The use of mass timber for housing has increased over the past few years, to the point that 75% of U.S. mass timber projects six stories or greater that are now in design are multi-family residential. Developers are increasingly recognizing the potential of these innovative wood materials to provide a differentiated product that offers sustainability and biophilic benefits, as well as greater leasing velocity, 租户保留, 以及投资回报. This presentation will compare two such projects—Bakers Place, a 14-story luxury mixed-use development, and Heartwood Workforce Housing, an eight-story project that offers housing for families making 60-100% of the Area Median Income. Presented by their developer and architect (respectively), the session will examine how objectives such as scale, 经济, and sustainability were achieved using hybrid construction and the new tall wood construction types.
